Bandits Kidnap Seven, Kill One In Zamfara

Armed bandits have abducted seven persons, and one person in the early hour of 14th August 2023 in an attack launched at the headquarters of Bungudu LGA, Zamfara State.

The information available indicates that the armed bandits invaded Bungudu LGA headquarters with deadly weapons and started shooting sporadically which resulted in the killing of one person and abducting of seven others including the son of the Emir of Bungudu Abdulrahman Hassan and the Former State Programme Officer of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Abubakar S/Fada Bungudu.

Attacks have been an incessant pressure on the local government headquarters despite its closeness to the state capital Gusau, without any arrangement for security intervention whenever there is an attack.

Meanwhile, one hideout of bandits enclave has been discovered on the outskirts of the town between the Nahuche community to Karakai, and the security agents are expected to dislodge the hideout.
