Portuguese football icon, Cristiano Ronaldo has finally won a major title with his Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr and also ended his two seasons trophy drought.
Earlier today, August 12, Cristiano Ronaldo was at the forefront as Al Nassr beat their domestic rivals, Al-Hilal, 2-1 in the final of the Arab Club Champions Cup.
The 38-year-old Portuguese football icon did not only play in the game, he scored two goals which were enough to land Al Nassr the prestigious title and grab his first trophy since 2021.
During the game, Al Nassr played with just ten men for about one hour including extra time, after 23-year-old Saudi Arabian right-back Nawaf Boushal was shown a red card.
The red card came over 25 minutes after Al-Hilal had taken the lead in the 51st minute through a header from Brazilian winger Michael.
Cristiano Ronaldo won the Golden Boot of the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.
Despite the disadvantage, and the fact that Al-Hilal have world-class players like Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in their team, Cristiano Ronaldo still stood tall to grab the equalizer for Al Nassr in the 74th minute.
Ronaldo’s goal forced the game to be decided in extra time. Despite his age, he continued in the game and got the winning goal in the 98th minute to win his first trophy as an Al Nassr player.
